News From Our Galaxy

Starr Classroom Blog

This summer I will be taking some trips. I’m going to keep a mini-journal of my experiences. You can get to know me by reading my posts.

My first summer trip is to Washington D.C. My husband is an attorney and he was invited to take part in a special ceremony at the United States Supreme Court. We left Loveland and flew to our nation’s Capitol. I will post some pictures soon.

We are preparing for our big adventure – an overnight field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We will load the buses on Thursday, April 26 after lunch and go to the museum. There is a special exhibit called “Lizards & Snakes” that we will visit first when we get there. We are studying life cycles in science and have anoles in our classroom. This exhibit will show us 60 live snakes and lizards from all over the world. When we are done with this exhibit we will have a picnic dinner and relax. Then at 6:00 PM the real adventure begins.  We will be checking into the museum and will spend the night!

I will have some students tell more about this adventure in future posts. Stay tuned.

Welcome to the Starr Classroom Blog on Thompson R2-J Blogs. This is my first post. I am Nita Starr, the lucky teacher of 23 great 3rd graders at Ivy Stockwell Elementary. I am hoping this blog will be a system for students and their families to communicate about the activities in our classroom. I will also post teacher/parent information to help everyone stay connected.
