I couldn’t locate my favorite grammar rule book, but is Strunk’s Elements of Style.   For straight-up comma usage ideas, check out this resource at Bartleby.

Cohort sources

On the first day of the Principal cohort, we named a couple of sources where you can get protocols for structuring conversations.

The first source is the Colorado Critical Friends Group. This is linked to the Resources page. Scroll down to near the bottom where you will see the protocols listed. There are protocols for discussing, looking at data, and looking at student work. I would start with these protocols if you are new to facilitating. They are very easy to follow and well-defined.

The other source is Data-Driven Dialogue by Wellman and Lipton. There are several protocols for working with data, but they can be adapted for a variety of purposes. These protocols seem to have a little more complexity and might be a little harder to adapt at first.

On another topic, a primary source of information about Professional Learning Communities can be found at www.allthingsplc.com
