I am a little frustrated with CDE. I have asked our staff to log on and take the CDE technology proficiency survey by Nov 22. The TSD staff are all trying to take the survey, but ironically, the CDE website is having technical issues. I hope CDE can get the site up and running by Monday so our staff can complete the survey before the holiday break.

We just finished verifying all licensed staff contracts in IFAS. We also just got done verifying all extra duty contracts. I want to thank the HR licensed staff for all of their hard work. I agree with the views posted by Dave Meister on the Importance of Relevance. I think our students should be exposed to a variety of career opportunities. Not all students fit the college mold, we need to provide other avenues for students that do not want to go to college.

I just got back from the CASE conference in Breckenridge today. I had a great time connecting with my peers. Several of the workshops I attended dealt with SB 191 and how to define and evaluate teacher and principal effectiveness. There are still many questions surrounding 191……stay tuned

Wow – I met my goal today of calling all our new licensed folks. I want to get contracts out to all of them by the end of this week. Peggy, April, Lisa, Chelle, and Michelle are great helps getting all of the licensed contracts processed, filed, and pay assignments rolled over.

Vicki, what do you cover with each employee when you meet with him/her? Do you find they are excited about signing the contract, overwhelmed with the work ahead, or generally ready for the task?
